Plenty of snow as Presidents' Weekend Shapes UP

After a slow start to Winter, January saw us blessed with plenty of winter storms, paving the way for some great local winter recreation this month, and there's plenty of snowfalls headed our way in the next few days too!!

Last weekend the annual snow sculpting competition was held at nearby Black Mountain, with 16 teams taking part.  All these frozen works of art are available for viewing as long as mother nature allows for the rest of the winter season.  They are definitely well worth a peek when you are skiing up at Black!

Great Value Ski and Stay Packages

Winter season 2010/11 has seen the Village House team up with many of its regular partners to offer value for money when it comes to discounted rates for ski and stay packages with savings of between $3 and $8 on regular priced tickets.  This year we are working with Jackson XC Ski, Black Mountain, Cranmore Mountain, and Bretton Woods.

New for 2011 we have also teamed up with Great Glen trails where Village House guests can enjoy free cross country skiing, snow shoeing and tubing during their stay with us.

Winter Adventure

If you are looking to try out something new in the White Mountains why not have a go at dog sledding or, if you are a speed demon, we have some great snow mobile adventures, as well as tickets for Cranmore's new Mountain coaster.

Treat Your Valentine While Staying With Us
Jackson is just made for romance and being the first inn through the famous honeymoon bridge, so close to Valentine's Day, why not treat your loved one to a massage during your stay with us or indulge in a traditional, English afternoon tea for two by the fire.  Check out our 'sleigh, stay and enjoy some romance' package with a special sleigh ride for 2 and fine dining at the Thompson House Eatery nearby.

Come and see us at Boston Globe Holiday Expo
The 11th and 12th of February will see Sally heading down to Boston to support members of Mount Washington Valley Chamber of Commerce on their exhibition stand.  There will be a VH giveaway competition so if you're in the area, pop over to the stand to receive a 10% discount on your stay.  This offer is valid for bookings from now up to September 1st 2011.

And Finally...

A big thank you goes to some of our great friends and visitors Bernie and Joan. The cardigan Joan knitted and sent for Rebecca is beautiful and is just what she needs for this cold winter weather!
